Apple Day at Big Bloom: A Seasonal Celebration in the Orchard ππ§οΈ
On Saturday 19th October, we welcomed over 100 wonderful people to Big Bloom for our much-loved Apple Day β a seasonal celebration of all things orchard-grown, community-made, and autumn-inspired.
Despite the rain, the garden was buzzing with joy, laughter, and the sweet scent of freshly pressed apples β all harvested right here from our very own orchard. From little ones to grown-ups, everyone had a go at pressing apples and tasting the delicious juice straight from the press. Thereβs nothing quite like the flavour of apples youβve helped pick and press yourself!
π Fresh Juice & Community Spirit
One of the highlights of the day was the apple pressing station. Families gathered to get stuck in, and the reward was some of the tastiest, freshest apple juice imaginable. Sweet, crisp and perfectly seasonal β it didnβt last long!
π° Homemade Cakes & Cosy Treats
To accompany the juice, we had a gorgeous spread of homemade cakes and bakes, lovingly prepared by members of the Bloom Sheffield community. From apple traybakes to spiced muffins, there was something for every autumn-loving sweet tooth.
π¨ Childrenβs Activities with Outdoors with Caroline
We were also delighted to be joined by Outdoors with Caroline, who ran a range of themed nature activities for children. Even with puddles underfoot and grey skies above, the kids were immersed in play, creativity, and discovery β proving once again that a little rain never dampens young curiosity!
πΏ Rainy Day Joy
The weather might have been wet, but spirits stayed bright. With waterproofs on and warm drinks in hand, we embraced the season in true Bloom style: together, outdoors, and grounded in nature.
Thank you to everyone who came along, helped out, or brought a smile. Apple Day 2026 canβt come soon enough.
