Volunteer with us in 2024!

Volunteering with us is a great way to meet new people, make a positive impact in your community, and learn new skills in the garden! There are a few different ways you can get involved, below is a list of volunteer opportunities available for 2024. Take a read and see which ones take your fancy.

There are new projects and collaborations happening all the time at Bloom and we love hearing from people who want to be involved. Our volunteer co-ordinator will then get in touch with you, and we will go from there.

Volunteering Roles

Gather & Grow Assistant

We need warm, fun and friendly people to join our Gather & Grow team. This position would involve you helping out in the community garden with growing tasks, but also with making people feel welcome and helping the day run smoothly. This will be based at Heeley & Meersbrook Allotments and they usually happen at the weekend. We would need you to commit to at least one session per month.

Gardening Volunteer at Wortley Walled Garden

We are looking for a dedicated and committed team of volunteers to help us in our production garden at Wortley Walled Garden. You must be able to volunteer on weekdays for at least 4 hours per week every week.

E-Cargo Bike Rider

Are you a confident cyclist? Would you like to help us sell our flowers around Sheffield? We are looking for someone to ride our new e-cargo bike on Saturday mornings. You must be able to commit to 1 Saturday morning per month between April - October.

Gardening to Feel Good Volunteer

Are you interested in helping others? Do you have experience of working in mental health? We are looking for volunteers to support our Gardening To Feel Good groups that run for 8 weeks at a time. You will need to be patient, understanding and calm and be willing to volunteer once a week (for 3 hours) for 8 consecutive weeks. You will be helping our attendees feel welcome at the garden and helping them with gardening tasks.
